Trip Report #8: Where Old Meets New: Pop Century, Grand Floridian 2/27/25-3/2/25
Kas -This was a unique trip. It was simultaneously full of familiar favorites—multiple trips around the Peoplemover—and exploding with experiments. There were a lot of new things I, personally, was planning to try on this trip. We went to Monsieur Paul’s and I ate food I’d never even heard of before. We tried the new restaurant at the Poly: the Wailulu Bar and Grill.

Trip Report: #7: The Crumbling of the Pillars: A Master Lesson in Being Adaptable: Animal Kingdom Lodge - 8/5/24-8/12/24
Kas -This trip was full of firsts! We went with friends instead of family. We went with my husband’s best man from our wedding, his wife, and their daughter. On top of this, we stayed at a resort we haven’t stayed at before: Animal Kingdom Lodge. We also booked a coveted Value One-Bedroom, so we were back to staying in a one-bedroom for the first time in a year

Trip Report #6: Chef Mickey's: Not the Only Needle to the Eye on This Trip: 6/16/24-6/21/24
Kas -This trip is like Bruno; we don’t talk about it. I am not going to detail what happened on this trip; it’s too personal. I will, however, talk about what we learned from the trip.

Trip Report #5: We Got Our Keys to the Kingdom!: 2/29/24-3/3/24
Kas -There was a bit of pressure leading up to this trip. Our previous trip, in December, hadn’t exactly gone according to plan. I left feeling less happy than I wanted to feel, and I felt concerned that that Disney magic was fading for me. Was I still capable of feeling it? Was I getting tired of Disney? If there’s such a thing as a Disney mid-life crisis, this would’ve been it.

Trip Report #4: Christmas in Disney: Who Knew it Made Both Things Worse?: 12/3/23-12/5/23
Kas -I had very high expectations for this trip. Having lived in FL for a time a decade earlier, I knew just how magical Disney could be at Christmas.

Trip Report #3: A Tale of Two Stays: Navigating a Split Disney Trip with Family - 8/10/23-8/19/23
Kas -We spent the bulk of this trip at the Grand Flo with my in-laws: my husband’s separated parents, including his mom, his dad, and his stepmom. The first half was with my mother-in-law; the back half was with my father-in-law and stepmother-in-law.

Trip Report #2: Our First Trip Home to the Grand Floridian 3/3/23-3/5/23
Kas -Whew. There were a lot of things that changed in our lives between the Shades of Green trip and this one. First and foremost, this was our first trip as DVC members. We bought our contract in August of 2022, and this was the earliest they could get us into the Grand Floridian, our home resort. I was a little sad we had to wait so long, but it was worth the wait, and having gotten into the flow of when and how to book, we’ve only had to wait this long between trips once since (and that was kind of our own doing).

Trip Report #1: Shades of Green - How a Walk Led Us to DVC - 7/28/22-8/6/22
Kas -This was the trip that got us thinking about buying DVC. Without this trip, we would not be DVC owners. This is for one very simple reason: we got a lot done on this trip, but we still left feeling like we had gotten nothing done.
